The Opportunity
A well-established residential developer is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major 500-unit residential development in North London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant QS to gain hands-on experience on a large-scale, multi-phase residential scheme, working closely with experienced Senior and Project Quantity Surveyors. The role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle, from pre-construction and procurement through to delivery and final account, within a supportive and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities

Assisting with the procurement and management of subcontract packages

Supporting the commercial team with post-contract duties

Assisting with valuations, variations, and change control

Preparing cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow information

Monitoring subcontractor performance and payments

Supporting the management of commercial risk and opportunity

Assisting with final accounts and project close-out

Working closely with site and project teams to support commercial performance
Requirements

Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee QS
-
Experience on residential construction projects preferred

Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline (or working towards)

Strong numerical, organisational, and communication skills

Eagerness to learn and progress within a residential developer environment

Ability to work well as part of a team and take direction from senior staff
