Teaching Personnel is recruiting a compassionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to work within a supportive specialist SEN school in the Portsmouth (Cosham) area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs in a nurturing, inclusive environment.
About the Role
As an SEN LSA, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils
Assisting teachers with adapting learning activities and resources
Supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Encouraging and reinforcing positive behaviour strategies
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and wider school staff
Supporting personalised learning plans to help pupils reach their full potential
About You
Experience working in an SEN setting is desirable but not essential
A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Flexible and proactive when supporting diverse needs

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
