An established environmental consultancy in Cambridge is looking to recruit an Assistant Ecologist to support its growing team. This role is ideal for an early-career ecologist seeking to strengthen their field skills, expand their technical knowledge and progress within a supportive, team-focused workplace.
You will be involved in a broad range of ecological projects, assisting with surveys, assessments and monitoring work across multiple sectors. Working alongside experienced ecologists, you'll contribute to field surveys, data interpretation and the production of high-quality ecological reports.

Your role will include:
Assisting with ecological surveys and on-site data collection
Supporting report writing, mapping and technical outputs
Helping to deliver projects efficiently and to a high standard
Keeping accurate field notes and following health and safety requirements
About you:
Degree qualified in ecology or a related subject
Some practical experience in ecological fieldwork, including protected species surveys such as bats or great crested newts
Strong interest in UK habitats and wildlife, with developing ID skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel for site work
