Mental Health Support Assistant - Swindon
An incredible school in Swindon are looking for a graduate to join their friendly team of support staff, as Mental Health Support Assistant. You will support students with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, including students who exhibit anti-social and challenging behaviours. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday.
As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will support the academic learning, emotional well being and behaviour of the students at the school. The children have a range of Special Educational Needs, and therefore require consistent, ongoing support to ensure they have the highest quality of care. The school employ a therapeutic approach so will offer a range of training to the Mental Health Support Assistant appointed. Experience in a similar role would be desirable but not essential. A relevant degree (e.g., Psychology, Criminology, Counselling etc.) would be beneficial.
This is a fantastic opportunity for the Mental Health Support Assistant to work alongside the therapists and psychologist based on-site at the school. You will gain knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour regulation and restorative practices, and build your experience working with vulnerable children. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring educational or occupational psychologist, therapeutic support worker or SEN teacher.
