Float Legal Secretary - Private Client, Family & Conveyancing
Location: Hastings, East Sussex
My client is a well-established regional law firm seeking a highly organised and adaptable Float Legal Secretary to provide support across our Private Client, Family, and Conveyancing teams. Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive secretarial support to solicitors and legal executives across multiple practice areas.

Manage the smooth flow of documents and correspondence in and out of the departments.

Prepare legal documents from hand-written notes or digital dictation.
-
Scan, email, and fax correspondence as required.

Undertake file management, including opening, closing, and filing documents.

Assist with the preparation of documents and bundles for hearings or client meetings.

Answer and manage telephone calls, enquiries, and messages.

Manage fee earners' diaries, organising internal and external meetings.

Provide flexible support to colleagues across the firm, covering workload fluctuations or urgent business needs.

Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by management.
Essential Skills & Experience:

Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word.

Basic knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel is desirable.

Experience using a Practice Management System advantageous.

Strong telephone and communication skills.

Highly organised with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Adaptable and able to work across different teams and practice areas.
