Prep & Cleaner
Location: Hailsham, East Sussex
We are recruiting a Prep & Cleaner on behalf of our client, an expanding engineering and manufacturing company operating from bright, modern facilities. This is a hands-on role supporting high-quality production standards within a clean, safety-focused environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, cleaning and inspecting components and assemblies to ultra-high vacuum (UHV) standards, ensuring all parts meet strict quality and cleanliness requirements.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
Cleaning, visual inspection, packaging and labelling of piece parts, sub-assemblies and final assemblies to UHV standards
Carrying out leak checks on chambers
Bead blasting to remove surface deposits and achieve high-quality finished components
Identifying and reporting any faults or non-conformances
Meeting internal and external customer deadlines without compromising quality
Maintaining a clean, tidy and professional work environment
Adhering to all Health, Safety and Environmental policies
Undertaking additional duties as required to support the wider business Skills & Experience
Understanding of UHV cleaning standards
Experience working with hazardous chemicals and awareness of associated safety requirements
Ability to read and follow work instructions accurately
Experience cleaning components using abrasive materials and chemicals
Strong focus on quality while working to deadlines
Understanding the importance of on-time delivery
Relevant health and safety training
Previous bead blasting experience would be advantageous Personal Attributes
