Our client is a well-established legal practice based in East London, seeking a Legal Receptionist to join their front office team. Position Overview
As Legal Receptionist, you'll be the first point of contact for clients and visitors, setting the tone for their experience with the practice. You'll manage the reception area professionally whilst supporting key administrative functions in a busy legal environment. Your role is essential to ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining confidentiality in line with legal industry standards, and helping fee earners and support staff work effectively. This position combines client-facing responsibilities with back-office administration, making it ideal if you enjoy variety and direct interaction with clients.
Responsibilities
Welcome clients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy, creating a positive first impression
Answer, direct and manage incoming telephone calls and emails promptly and accurately
Book and manage reception areas and meeting rooms to support client meetings and staff needs
Receive, log and distribute post and documents according to practice procedures
Perform administrative tasks including scanning, filing and data entry with attention to detail
Liaise with fee earners and support staff to ensure smooth office operations and client service
Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in line with Solicitors Regulation Authority requirements Essential Experience and Skills:
Previous receptionist or front office experience (legal or professional services background preferred)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage professionally with clients
Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office (legal case management systems an advantage)
Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment Personal Qualities:
