Job Title: Payroll Advisor
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 (dependent on experience)
Location: Blackburn, Lancashire
Working pattern: Office-based initially (during probation), then hybrid will be doable
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a growing payroll bureau team as a Payroll Administrator. This is a fantastic role for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Processing high volumes of payroll data accurately and to strict deadlines.
Ensuring compliance with security, confidentiality, and internal processes.
Calculating net pay and producing payroll outputs in line with HMRC regulations.
Submitting RTI returns (FPS, EPS, P45, P46).
Producing month-end and year-end payroll reports.
Liaising with HMRC, DWP, pension providers, and other external bodies.
Supporting auto-enrolment processes and maintaining pension compliance.
Managing HMRC downloads including tax codes and student loan notices.
Maintaining accurate payroll records.
Demonstrating awareness of CIS requirements and deadlines.
About You
Minimum 2 years’ experience within a payroll bureau environment.
Comfortable working under pressure in a deadline-driven role.
Strong attention to detail with a high standard of accuracy.
Confident communicator with a strong client-service mindset.
Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
