Job Title: Multi-Trade Operative
Location: South Ayrshire
Rates of Pay: £35,000 - £45,000 + benefits & OT
Reports To: Site Manager/Project Manager
Job Summary:
The Multi-Trade Operative will be responsible for performing a range of skilled construction tasks across various trades, including carpentry, roofing, and general maintenance. The role requires a versatile individual with a broad skill set who can adapt to different tasks and projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship and adherence to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:

General Construction:

Prepare construction sites, including clearing debris and setting up materials.

Assist in demolition tasks when necessary.

Maintain cleanliness and orderliness on-site.

Roofing:
- Perform roofing tasks, including repairs and installations.
Including but not limited too -

Pitched roofs – slate, tiles, metals
-
Flat roofs – felts, single ply membrane, liquid coatings

Inspect roofs for damage and determine necessary repairs

Maintenance:
Qualifications:

Proven experience in multiple construction trades, with roofing skills as a core requirement

Relevant trade certifications or qualifications are advantageous.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and health and safety regulations.

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
Personal Attributes:

Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) checks will be carried out/required to assess the individual criminal history. (proof of this is advantageous)

Adaptable and flexible to meet the demands of different projects.

Be able to Coordinate, communicate effectively to minimise disruption to school operations with school staff, administrators

Committed to delivering high-quality work and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Working Conditions:

Work is primarily performed on live Education buildings, which may involve exposure to various weather conditions.

The role may require lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and performing physically demanding tasks.

Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
