Stores Operative
Location: North East (with occasional cover at a second nearby site)
Hours: Mon-Thurs 8:00-4:30, Fri 8:00-3:00
Contract: Full-time, on-site
Reports to: Procurement Supervisor
Start: ASAP
About the Role
A well‑established engineering organisation is looking for a reliable and proactive Stores Operative to support their main site, with occasional part‑time cover required at a second location.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in keeping a stores environment organised, and can work independently with accuracy and initiative.
Key Responsibilities
Main Site
Handle inbounds and outbounds, including receiving deliveries and dispatching stock.
Maintain accurate inventory records and monitor stock levels.
Ensure the site is clean, safe, and well‑maintained.
Manage stock replenishment, including consumables and service suitcases.
Arrange NEPs as required.
Check invoices and match them to deliveries.
Manage returns to suppliers and warranty items.
Progress outstanding supplier orders to ensure timely delivery.
Secondary Site (occasional part‑time cover)
Receive deliveries and accurately log stock movements.
Maintain cleanliness, safety, and site organisation.
Restock consumables and maintain inventory levels.
Order parts required for specialist panel builds.
Arrange NEPs as needed.
Pick and prepare orders for assembly teams.
Check invoices against deliveries.
Handle warranty returns and supplier returns.
Progress supplier orders and chase outstanding items.
About You
You will ideally bring:
Previous experience in a stores, warehouse, or engineering stores environment.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and prioritise workloads.
Good communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
Flexibility to occasionally support another local site.
What's On Offer
Salary around £27,000.
Daytime hours Monday-Friday with an early finish on Fridays.
