The Role
They're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their friendly, close-knit team. This is a varied role where you'll prepare accounts, support with tax, and help businesses understand their numbers. You'll also play a part in driving improvements that benefit clients long-term. If you're a natural "completer-finisher" who loves getting things done, this could be the perfect fit.
What You'll Be Doing
Preparing accounts (including incomplete records work and bookkeeping for different clients)
Supporting with tax and compliance tasks
Communicating with clients in a clear, professional, and approachable way
Spotting opportunities to improve processes and suggesting solutions
Bringing fresh ideas and asking smart questions
Taking ownership and using your initiativeAbout YouYou don't need to be the finished article, but here's what will make you stand out:
Ideally 2 years' experience in a similar practice role (qualified or QBE)
Working towards AAT/ACCA/ACA (or equivalent experience)
Strong communicator who explains things clearly and builds trust
Organised with excellent attention to detail
Proactive and confident with accounting/tax software and HMRC processes
Local enough to work flexibly but attend the office regularlyMost importantly, you'll align with their values:
