Our local government clients in Sutton, London, are recruiting a Finance Administrator. This role offers an excellent opportunity for finance professionals looking to make a meaningful impact in the public sector. You will gain valuable experience, develop your skills, and contribute to Legal Finance, Adult Social Care (ASC) Teams, and Finance Hub Teams colleagues. To excel in this role, you should possess strong numeracy and literacy skills, attention to detail, and accuracy in your work. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with accounting skills, is essential. Responsibility
Deliver an effective, efficient, and customer-focused service in line with corporate policies and within national and local legislative requirements. Taking responsibility for ensuring that any issues raised are resolved promptly.
Qualification – Essential
GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.
NVQ Level 3/4 in Business and Finance.
Advanced – Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), social media and accounting software.
Criteria to be Evaluated at the Shortlisting Stage - We are looking for candidates with:
COP Case Management: Concentrate on the COP cases currently managed by Adult Social Care
Cases with a 12-week disregard that has extended beyond the initial 12 weeks.
Initiate revised interim funding arrangements (COP funding and property cases)
Disputed Cases: Work collaboratively with the Brokerage Team, Processing Team, and Financial Assessment Team on disputed cases.
Appointeeship Cases: Prioritise Appointeeship cases where savings exceed £50,000 and a deputyship application is required.
Administrative Support: Provide administrative support for the ASC Collections Team where feasible.
Any other ad hoc duties as advised by the ASC Finance Hub Manager.
Stakeholder Engagement experience.
