BMC Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant for their client in Team Valley, Gateshead.
This is a varied role where every day is different involving both accounting and administration. You will be happy to step straight in from day one and work with the team. This will not phase you.
You may be at a junior level studying AAT or simply have experience in Accounts and Finance, either is fine. There will be development opportunities here for you. If you do not want to progress don’t worry this is not an expectation, experience and team fit are important for you to be successful.
The office currently operates full time hours at 37.5 a week, if you’re looking to work reduced hours of 30, this can be considered. There is flexibility to work over 4 days or 5 to suit other commitments you may have.

Record daily financial transactions
Maintain ledgers and journals
Assist with month-end and year-end closing
Process supplier invoices and expense claims
Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts
Prepare and process payments
Perform bank reconciliations
Reconcile cash, credit card, and other accounts
Identify and resolve discrepancies Support with:
Generate monthly reports and summaries
Maintain accurate financial records for audits
Support internal and external audits
Maintain accounting files and documentation
Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Coordinate with vendors, customers, and internal departments Skills & Qualifications
Basic knowledge of accounting principles
Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, reports)
Attention to detail and accuracy
Numerical and analytical skills
Time management and organisation
Communication skills
