We are seeking a dedicated Recycling Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sorting, processing, and managing recyclable materials in a safe and efficient manner. The position involves manual labour and requires adherence to safety protocols to ensure smooth operations within the recycling facility.
Responsibilities

Collect, sort, and process recyclable materials according to company procedures

Operate machinery and equipment used in the recycling process, maintaining mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting when necessary

Ensure the proper segregation of different types of recyclables, including plastics, metals, and paper

Perform heavy lifting tasks safely to move materials within the facility

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area to promote safety and efficiency

Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any malfunctions or safety hazards promptly

Follow health and safety guidelines at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Assist with loading and unloading materials from lorries or containers as required
Experience

Prior experience in a recycling or waste management environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided

Mechanical knowledge is desirable to facilitate equipment operation and troubleshooting

Physical strength and stamina are necessary for heavy lifting tasks throughout shifts
