About the Role
We are recruiting a Court Officer to join a busy and supportive London Local Authority legal team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor or a legal professional who has recently qualified after working as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Officer within a public‑sector environment.
You will play a key role in supporting the council’s housing and litigation functions, managing a varied caseload and providing clear, accurate legal advice to internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Manage and progress a caseload of housing and civil litigation matters

Prepare court documentation, statements, and case bundles

Attend court hearings, case conferences, and meetings as required

Provide timely legal advice to officers and service managers

Liaise with external partners, counsel, and other local authorities

Support the wider legal team with case preparation and research

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
About You
We are looking for someone who is:

A Newly Qualified Solicitor (NQ) or qualified within the last few years

Experienced working as a Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or Legal Officer within a Local Authority or public‑sector legal team

Confident handling housing or litigation matters

Able to manage a busy caseload and work to deadlines

A strong communicator who can build positive working relationships
