housing Administrator
Hourly Rate: £15.72ph PAYE plus holiday pay
Location: Welwyn
Job Type: Temporary, 3 months with the review to extend
Hours of Work: 37 hours per week
We are currently seeking a Housing Allocations Administrator to join the councils Housing Options / Housing Allocations team on a temporary basis. This role is essential for managing and maintaining the council's housing needs register and ensuring the efficient allocation of housing resources.
Day-to-day of the role:
Manage and maintain the council's housing needs register.
Assist customers with housing needs by providing advice, assistance, and signposting to other colleagues or organisations for further support.
Ensure that the council's and local registered providers' vacant properties are let in accordance with our published housing allocations policy and within agreed timescales.
Work under own initiative to find solutions to problems regularly.
Remain calm and professional in emotionally demanding situations, dealing effectively with people who may display challenging behaviour.Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working with Housing desirable but not essential
Good general standard of education including Maths and English.
High level of IT literacy, confident in the use of Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Experience in a customer-facing role.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of audiences.
Good organisational skills with the ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks efficiently.Interviews will be held in the new year with an aim to start Monday 12th January. I will be short listing Monday 5th January so all CVs to be received by this day
