Administrator / Junior Estimator (M&E Building Services)

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Administrator who is interested in progressing into a Junior Estimator role within the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) building services sector. This position is ideal for someone organised, detail-focused, and eager to grow their career in a technical construction environment. Full training and development will be provided, with a clear pathway to becoming a fully qualified estimator.
Role Overview
The role will initially focus on administration, gradually moving into estimating responsibilities as training and experience grow.
Key Responsibilities
Administration (initial focus)

Provide general administrative support to the estimating and project teams.

Manage incoming enquiries, emails, project files, and documentation.

Maintain and update internal databases, tender logs, and filing systems.

Assist with the preparation of quotations, proposals, and reports.

Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to gather documentation and pricing information.
Junior Estimator Development (progressive responsibilities)

Support senior estimators in preparing cost estimates for M&E projects.

Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

Assist in obtaining supplier/subcontractor quotes and pricing data.

Help produce bills of quantities and cost schedules.

Develop understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems.

Contribute to bid preparation and tender submissions.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:

Proven administrative or office support experience.

Strong organisational and time-management skills.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Confident with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in estimating.
Desirable (not essential):

Experience in construction or M&E environments.

Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical building services.

Previous involvement in tendering, estimating, or procurement processes.
