Anderson Knight is pleased to be working in partnership with a highly regarded legal services firm to recruit a Legal Assistant for their specialist Lending Services team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in Scottish conveyancing or secured lending who is looking to build on their expertise within a professional, collaborative, and fast-paced environment.
In this position, you will provide essential support across a range of secured lending transactions, with a strong focus on buy-to-let, portfolio, and limited company lending. You will be involved in title examination, preparation of security documentation, and managing cases from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring all lender requirements and regulatory standards are met.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm
Location: Glasgow City Centre (office-based)
Salary: £25,000–£30,000
Key Responsibilities

Support the progression of secured lending transactions via a case management system.

Review property titles and associated documentation in line with lender instructions and the UK Finance Handbook (where applicable).

Identify and escalate any title or transactional issues to the supervising solicitor.

Assist with the drafting, reviewing, and issuing of standard securities and related legal documents.

Liaise with borrower solicitors, lenders, and third parties to ensure matters progress efficiently.

Confirm all lender conditions and requirements are satisfied prior to settlement.

Support completion, settlement, and registration processes.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records throughout each transaction.

Ensure ongoing compliance with Law Society of Scotland requirements, lender panel obligations, and internal procedures.

Provide general administrative and team support to aid the smooth operation of the Lending Services department.
Requirements

Previous experience in a legal support role, ideally within secured lending, conveyancing, or property law.

Sound knowledge of Scottish property law and conveyancing processes.

Experience reviewing titles and working with standard securities and associated documentation.

Understanding of the end-to-end lifecycle of secured lending or refinancing transactions.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and time management skills.

Clear and confident written and verbal communication abilities.

Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office.

Ability to work effectively under supervision while managing multiple matters concurrently.
