We are recruiting for an HR Assistant to work on a permanent basis for our client based in Leyland.
The role is working for a manufacturing client. Previous experience of working in an engineering/manufacturing background would be preferred but not essential.
Salary is c£26-32,000 per annum plus 25 days' holiday and bank holidays, pension etc
Duties for the HR Assistant:
Recruitment and Onboarding

Coordinate end-to-end recruitment processes, including drafting job adverts, managing applications, arranging interviews, and maintaining communication with candidates.

Support hiring managers in defining role requirements and selection criteria.

Prepare offer letters and employment contracts in line with company policies.

Administer onboarding activities, including pre-employment screening, induction scheduling, and maintaining personnel files.
HR Administration and Employee Records

Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, ensuring compliance with GDPR and internal governance.

Manage HR databases and systems, generating reports when required.

Administer employee changes such as promotions, transfers, contract amendments, and terminations.

Monitor absence, holiday entitlements, and sickness reporting, ensuring timely escalation when required.
Employee Relations and Support

Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries, providing guidance to employees and line managers on HR policies, procedures, and best practice.

Support the HR Manager with employee relations matters by organising meetings, preparing documentation, and recording outcomes.

Assist in maintaining a positive employee experience and contributing to engagement initiatives.
Compliance and Policy

Ensure HR practices align with current employment law, industry standards, and organisational policies.

Assist in the development, review, and communication of HR policies and procedures.

Support internal and external audits by ensuring documentation and data are accurate and accessible.
Skills and Experience for the HR Assistant
Essential:
-
Previous experience in an HR Administrator or similar HR support role.

Strong understanding of HR processes, employment law, and HR best practice.

Proficient in using HR information systems and Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to data integrity.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable:

Experience in the engineering or manufacturing sector.

CIPD Level 3 qualification (or currently working towards).

Experience supporting payroll administration.

Understanding of audit requirements and quality management systems.
