The Role: Pastoral Support Team Member
You will join a dedicated Pastoral Support Team to support students' emotional and academic development. Key responsibilities include:
Supporting students' wellbeing and helping them develop emotional self-regulation
Building trusting, positive relationships with pupils to guide reflection and personal growth
Understanding individual SEND needs to support the school's reflect-repair-reconnect approach
De-escalating challenging behaviour using proactive and appropriate strategies
Collaborating with teachers, the Pastoral Lead, and support staff to inform learning and intervention
Providing meaningful support that promotes personal development and resilience

Able to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Experienced in supporting children with social, emotional, or behavioural needs
Knowledgeable about high-quality teaching and learning for SEN pupils
A team player who takes initiative and is eager to learn
Essential: Good literacy and numeracy skills
Desirable: Proven experience in pastoral or SEN support roles About the Students
Students are unique, full of potential, and require tailored support
Many have previously struggled in mainstream settings
Pupils typically remain until 16-17, progressing to local colleges or training
They have a variety of Learning Needs, SLCN, and Emotional Needs
