*Location: Hybrid — Falkirk (3 days per week)*

*About Us*
Are you looking for a role where your experience, reliability, and meticulous approach are genuinely valued? Whether you’re returning after a career break, seeking a meaningful second career, or looking for long-term stability in a small and supportive business — Your Energy Source would love to hear from you.
We are a growing consultancy and a UK leader in renewable energy grant applications. Our mission is simple: *make renewables easy* and remove the barriers that stop organisations adopting clean technologies. As a small business, we value people who want to stay, grow, and become trusted members of the team.
*About the Role*
As a *Renewable Energy Data Technician*, your core responsibility is to ensure information is checked thoroughly, recorded accurately, and submitted correctly to government bodies. This is a role for someone who is naturally *pedantic about details*, follows procedures precisely, and takes pride in getting things right every time.
Rather than deep or complex analysis, this job is primarily about *careful checking*, validating figures, following structured workflows, and ensuring nothing is missed. You’ll receive clear procedures, training, and support — especially valuable for those re-entering the workforce or moving from another industry.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Collect, check and submit energy and fuel-consumption data
* Follow defined procedures to calculate greenhouse-gas emissions
* Review information for accuracy and compliance with scheme requirements
* Prepare and submit applications for the *Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)*, *Renewables Obligation (RO)*, and *Combined Heat and Power Quality Assurance (CHPQA)* programme
* Ensure all data meets strict quality-control steps before submission
* Maintain organised records in line with internal processes
* Build professional, supportive relationships with clients
* Communicate findings clearly and confidently
*Who We’re Looking For*
We are particularly interested in *experienced *people seeking long-term roles, and those returning after career breaks. This job suits someone who finds satisfaction in careful, methodical work and who enjoys following clear procedures.
*Essential:*
* A strong natural inclination toward *accuracy, checking, consistency and precision*
* Demonstratable numeracy skills for reviewing data within Excel documents to spot problems and resolve them
* High IT literacy
* Ability to follow detailed procedures carefully and reliably
* Clear and timely communication skills with clients and fellow team members
* Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
*Desirable:*
* A degree in *engineering*, *physics*, *mathematics*, *renewable energy*, *data science*, or another technical discipline
* Experience with *CHPQA (Combined Heat and Power Quality Assurance)*, *RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive)*, *RO (Renewables Obligation)* or similar schemes
* A technical or compliance-focused background in any industry
* Enjoyment of structured, repeatable tasks and problem-solving
If you’ve taken time out of the workplace for family, caring responsibilities, health reasons, or other commitments, please feel encouraged to apply — we deeply value the practical experience gained over many years.
*What We Offer*
* *£25,000–£30,000 salary* depending on experience
