Vac Caster / Finisher
Location: Gloucester
Hours: 07:00–15:00 Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: Competitive hourly rate - temp to perm contract.
Key Responsibilities of a Vac Caster / Finisher:

Vacuum casting plastic models of varying sizes and complexity using silicone moulds

Finishing components by hand and with small machine tools

Inspecting parts to ensure quality standards are met

Understanding the behaviour of silicone tools and adjusting processes for optimal performance

Working proactively with downstream departments
Key Skills of a Vac Caster / Finisher:

Excellent attention to detail

Logical decision-making skills

Strong hand-to-eye coordination and dexterity

Physically fit and confident in a workshop environment

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Competent using measuring equipment such as Verniers

Good communication skills, a strong team player, flexible and able to work under pressure

Reliable with excellent timekeeping
Desirable Skills:
-
Vacuum casting or finishing experience, or similar transferable skills
-
Recognised engineering or mechanical apprenticeship

Problem-solving attitude

Computer literacy
-
Previous experience in modelmaking, fettling, or a craft/artistic background
