The Assistant Project Planner plays a key role in assisting the planning and delivery of infrastructure projects, Reporting to the Senior Planner, this role contributes to the development, maintenance, and optimisation of project schedules and planning systems to ensure successful project execution. This is an Agile role and there is a requitement to attend meetings in our Warwick office as needed along with customer visits. Ideally candidates will be Midlands based.
What youll do:
- Assist in creating and maintaining project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Prepare weekly look-ahead plans, dashboards, and Planned vs Actual reports.
- Reviewing activity sequencing/phasing, durations, resources, and safety requirements with the operational teams, to ensure buildable programmes are developed, understood by the team, and submitted to the Internal Project Teams in line with contractual timescales.
- Assist the development of schedules at different stages of the lifecycle, with the ability to analyse, and document inter-departmental and intra-departmental business process flows.
- Produce tender plans to aid bids and work with operations to ensure best opportunity presented
- Provide project performance measurement and reporting.
- Support cost loading, resource allocation, and work bank maintenance.
Who you are:
This would be a great opportunity for someone who has gained some Project Planning experience who is looking to build on this. Help assist the development of schedules at different stages of the lifecycle, with the ability to analyses, and document inter-departmental and intra-departmental business process flows.
Key Requirements:
- Proficiency in Primavera P6
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Track project milestones, update progress, and flag delays or risks
- Understanding of planning, schedule management, and change control.
- Ability to interpret contractor plans and integrate them into master schedules
- Ideally have experience within the Rail or Telecoms sector
