Nursery Assistant
Location: Halifax
Hours: Wednesday & Thursday, 9:00am – 3:00pm
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary – Ongoing
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Nursery Assistant to join a friendly and supportive nursery setting in Halifax. This is a part-time, ongoing temporary role ideal for someone who is passionate about early years education and enjoys helping young children learn, play, and develop.
Requirements

Experience working within a nursery or early years environment

Enhanced DBS (on the update service preferred, or willingness to obtain one)

Knowledge of EYFS guidelines

Strong communication and teamwork skills

A caring, patient, and positive attitude

Ability to follow safeguarding procedures at all times
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day running of the nursery room

Assist with planning, setting up, and supervising age-appropriate activities

Engage children in play, learning, and social development

Maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating environment

Provide support with meals, personal care, and hygiene routines

Observe and record children’s progress following EYFS guidance

Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues

Ensure safeguarding and health & safety standards are met at all times

Help with preparing resources and tidying the environment at the end of the day
