A high-profile Government Department is seeking an SC-Cleared Technical Delivery Manager to lead delivery of a cloud-native backend data engineering capability as part of a major data transformation initiative. This role requires strong experience delivering secure AWS-based data solutions, proven Agile leadership, and the ability to coordinate across engineering, architecture, product and security teams to ensure high-quality, compliant outcomes
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end delivery of a backend data engineering workstream on AWS
Plan and manage delivery across Data Engineering, DevOps, Architecture, Security and Product teams
Oversee data pipeline development, integrations and operational readiness activities
Identify and manage delivery risks, dependencies and blockers
Maintain clear governance, reporting and delivery controls aligned to programme standards
Support stakeholder engagement across technical and business domains
Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, automation, testing and documentation
Ensure all delivery adheres to secure-by-design and data compliance requirements
Skills & Experience
Strong track record delivering backend cloud data engineering solutions
Excellent understanding of AWS data services (S3, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, Athena, Step Functions)
Experience working with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and IaC (e.g., Terraform)
Strong command of Agile delivery methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
Confident communicator able to translate technical detail into clear delivery updates
Proven ability to manage risks, dependencies and engineering governance
Experience working with sensitive data, secure environments and compliance frameworks
Security Clearance
Active SC clearance is essential.
