Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000
Anderson Knight are excited to partner with a leading company based in Clydebank, offering a fantastic opportunity to join their Reporting Team in an Assistant Accountant capacity. Reporting to the Team Leader, this position is ideal for someone looking to develop core accounting and reporting experience in a commercial financial function.
As part of a collaborative and supportive team, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering essential financial information to clients, ensuring accurate and timely reporting. Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of management accounts and funding requirements for key clients.

Performing actuals vs budget variance analysis in collaboration with budget holders.

Working closely with the operations department to deliver detailed vessel commentary to clients.

Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and ensure satisfaction.

Full general ledger oversight and management for vessels within your remit.

Conducting month-end balance sheet reconciliations.

Resolving balances and discrepancies with internal stakeholders.

Creating and processing bank payments and performing bank reconciliations.

Managing open purchase orders and accruals.

Performing ad hoc duties for clients and management as required.
Candidate Requirements:
Essential:

Previous experience in a finance function, processing general ledger transactions.

Strong ability to prioritise and manage deadlines with excellent time management skills.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Strong relationship-building skills and a proactive approach.

A flexible, can-do attitude with a commitment to quality and service.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Experience with accounting and financial reporting software.

Experience preparing accounts to trial balance.
Desirable:

Currently working towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ICAS).

Experience in management accounting and/or client reporting.
