Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 p.a.
About the Role
Our client, a well-established and growing accountancy organisation, is seeking an enthusiastic Accounts Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop strong technical accounting skills while working towards their initial professional qualifications.
In this role, you’ll be involved in a wide variety of accounting tasks, gaining valuable hands-on experience and building the foundations for a successful career in accountancy.
Key Responsibilities
Client Services
-
Prepare accounts for sole traders, more complex partnerships, and limited companies.

Accurately produce trial balances, lead schedules, supporting documentation, and executive summaries.

Use Digita Accounts Preparation software to generate accounts.

Extract information and reports from client records.

Develop in-depth knowledge of Xero and commonly used bookkeeping and VAT applications.

Gain further experience in Payroll/CIS, including common technical issues.

Input figures into Digita Personal Tax and Corporation Tax for simple clients and run draft computations prior to manager review.

Manage Companies House and HMRC filing requirements for assigned clients.
Professional Qualifications

Work towards completion of the AAT qualification and consider future progression routes.

Attend all study and revision courses and complete coursework and practice exams on time.

Prepare thoroughly for examinations.
Other Duties
-
Demonstrate efficient use of internal systems, including full understanding of Karbon to manage workloads via Triage, To-Do, and My Week.

Undertake occasional additional duties as required.
