Job title: Junior Regulatory Affairs Assistant
Location: Remote (UK-based, with option to visit Waltham, Thomas’s, or Slough office occasionally)
Contract length: 12 months
Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently seeking a Regulatory Affairs Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to join and contribute to the Scientific and Regulatory Affairs (SRA) team of a large multi-national company, playing a central role in identifying scientific developments in emerging issues and collating briefing documents on the knowledge, evidence and science relevant to specific issues/topics.
This temporary role is crucial for our 'horizon scanning' function, helping our business partners make informed, evidence-based decisions. Some of the duties will include but are not limited to:
Horizon Scanning: Proactively conduct wide-ranging scientific and regulatory literature searches to identify and highlight new scientific and regulatory developments, particularly in food safety and related areas, that could impact the business, its regulatory environment or consumer perception

Knowledge Collation: Bring together relevant scientific knowledge and evidence on specific priority topics

Briefing & Communication: Support the development and delivery of concise science and regulatory briefs (approximately 6 per year) to inform business partners and key stakeholders, translating complex science for non-technical audiences

System Maintenance: Develop and maintain systems, tools and procedures (such as shared Endnote libraries and research summary tables) to ensure information is accessible and organized for the SRA team and their partners
Required Skills and Experience
Essential:

A BSc in Food Science, Life Science or Veterinary Science (or similar)

Fluency in English (written and verbal) with excellent written and oral communication skills

Proven ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively to non-technical audiences

Sound decision quality, strong critical thinking and judgment skills

Ability to navigate and search scientific literature effectively
Desirable:

Experience in a regulatory affairs environment (e.g., Associate SRA, Junior Specialist)

Knowledge of Endnote and experience with structured literature searching strategies

An MSc is an advantage

Previous experience in a contract role
