Electrical Lead Operative (Qualified Supervisor)
Location: Manchester - Mobile/Field Based
Contract: Permanent, Full Time (35 hours/week)
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)
About the Role
Daniel Owen are seeking an experienced Electrician to take on a hybrid position as Lead Operative / Qualified Supervisor (QS) within their in-house maintenance team. You'll work across the Northwest region, ensuring electrical safety, compliance, and high-quality maintenance.
As a Lead Electrician (QS), you'll:
Oversee and verify the quality and compliance of electrical work carried out by the in-house team.
Carry out and certify electrical maintenance, testing, and installation tasks.
Ensure documentation, test results, and notifiable works are accurately completed and submitted.
Provide leadership and act as a point of technical authority for the electrical team.Key Responsibilities
Perform day-to-day electrical repairs, CCU upgrades, testing, and fault-finding.
Ensure compliance with BS 7671:2018
and all relevant regulations.
Carry out and review inspection and testing reports.
Support team performance targets (KPIs), including job completion times and customer satisfaction..Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications:
NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Apprenticeship (or equivalent, including AM2)
Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (BS 7671:2018)
Level 3 Inspection & Testing - Initial Verification
Level 3 Inspection & Testing - Periodic InspectionExperience:
Minimum 2 years' responsibility for the technical standard of electrical work post-qualification.
Strong background in domestic and light commercial environments (preferably social housing/local authority).
Demonstrated knowledge of inspection, testing, and fault diagnosis.
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).Desirable:
Previous Qualified Supervisor (QS) experience (training can be provided).
Familiarity with CPS schemes (e.g., NICEIC).
Understanding of Health & Safety best practices, particularly in resident settings.Skills & Attributes
