We are recruiting for a motivated and reliable Factory Operative to join our client's team in their long established manufacturing company in the Medway area. Working 07.30-16.30, Monday-Thursday, Friday 07.30-13.30.
You'll play a key role in preparing and processing castings, working across a variety of tasks including etching, shot-blasting, fettling, linishing, and band saw operation.
This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideal for someone with a keen attention for detail, and pride in their work.
Key Responsibilities
Etch castings using a compressed air-driven vibro-etching tool.
Shot-blast castings using alumina grit.
Process components according to Technique Cards and Works Instructions.
Use compressed air-driven hand tools.
Handle and move boxes of castings safely around the factory.
Data recording and reporting, detailing all work carried out.Occasional tasks may include:
Linishing castings using an upright linishing machine.
Operating a band saw as required.Health, Safety & Housekeeping
Always wear and maintain correct PPE.
Follow COSHH guidelines and understand chemical safety data sheets.
Comply with all relevant risk assessments.
Keep work areas clean.
Assist in maintaining and cleaning shot blast equipment and extraction systems when necessary.What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a manufacturing or fettling environment (desirable but not essential - training provided).
Good attention to detail and manual dexterity.
Ability to follow instructions and work to production targets.
Good, legible handwriting for completing job documentation.
