🏫 About the Role
APT Education is seeking a resilient and compassionate KS2 Behaviour Support Assistant to join a forward-thinking primary school in Birmingham. This full-time role starts in January 2026 and is ideal for someone with a proven track record supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and social-emotional needs.
You’ll work closely with teaching staff and the SENCO to:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural challenges

Implement positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques

Act as a positive role model, promoting emotional regulation and respectful relationships

Support classroom routines and transitions to reduce anxiety and disruption

Liaise with staff and parents to ensure consistent support across settings
👤 About You
We’re looking for a confident and empathetic TA with:

Recent experience in a UK primary school, specifically KS2

Strong understanding of behavioural needs and intervention strategies

Ability to build trust and rapport with pupils who may struggle with boundaries

Calm, consistent approach to behaviour management

A valid Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
