Company Overview BSI UK is leasing company in the travel and tourism sector with our head office based in London. Our portfolio includes tour operator, travel agencies, destination management services, and hospitality ventures across multiple markets. We are currently seeking an experienced Financial Controller. Role Summary We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial strategy and operations across a number of companies. The successful candidate will maintain financial stability during this transition period while implementing effective financial controls and providing strategic insight to navigate the unique financial challenges of the travel industry. Key Responsibilities • Financial Strategy & Oversight: Oversee all financial operations and reporting for a number of companies. Lead the development and execution of financial strategies tailored to the travel industry (e.g., seasonality, global travel trends). • Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow processes across the group, providing accurate financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions. • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present timely financial statements, management reports, and performance analyses to the CEO and Board. • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations and regulatory compliance specific to the travel sector. • Team Leadership: Oversee the finance team (7 people), ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, providing clear direction and maintaining leadership and morale during this interim period. • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with department heads, external auditors, and key stakeholders to align financial goals with business priorities in the travel industry. • Compliance: Ensure adherence to UK & EU financial regulations, tax obligations, and industry-specific standards, maintaining the group’s reputation for integrity. • Ad Hoc Projects: Support strategic initiatives, such as cost optimization or investment analysis, to drive profitability in a competitive travel market. Required Qualifications & Experience • Minimum 7 years' experience in senior financial management roles • Previous experience as a Financial Controller or similar senior finance role • Strong comprehension of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) • Strong knowledge of UK & EU financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax law • Experience in managing financial operations across multiple companies or business units • Proven track record in financial planning, analysis, and reporting • Excellent leadership and team management skills • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights • Experience with financial systems • Excellent English and Russian verbal and written language.
