BASIC MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS ROLE
- Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management - advantages
- Proficient in Excel/PowerPoint for data management and reporting
- 2-5 years relevant experience in:
- Retail / Logistics industry (Transportation Role)
- Supply chain environment
- Customer Services dealing with all levels of functions from clients (internal & external) within a Warehouse and Transportation environment
- Transporter service level management
- Intricate understanding of synergies to achieve the best output between the warehouse & transporter as per the clients’ requirements/KPI
- Extensive knowledge of Inbound, Outbound and Return processes and workflows including transportation requirements (Warehouse/Transport)
- Sound and proven skills in Organizing, Directing, Controlling & Monitoring
- Ability to meet and manage customer expectations and ensure compliance to Policies, Regulations, Work Instructions and Workloads
- Good understanding of domestic and cross border/international transport requirements
- Good interpersonal skills for client account management and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers
- Ability to handle conflict on a tactical and operational level
- Effective communication skills with all levels of management
- Punctuality and good time management skills
- Good understanding of MRP management principles

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This role will be responsible for the management, support and coordination of all transporters information and deliverables to ensure the customers service levels are met.
- Transporters deliverables / SLA management
- Reporting to relevant stakeholders
- Coordinating/Consolidating all the information from various transporters in a presentable manner
- Invoice management and execution
- Build and maintain strong business partnerships with existing customers & transporters
- Identify value-adding opportunities to improve current processes and deliverables as per the client contract
- Overall service and development within the transportation space
- Ensure compliance with regards to documentation and export & import controls
- Proactively driven to identify, action, and manage deliverables
- Maintain various reports in line with KPI and contractual obligations
- Complete daily system checks to ensure all data to and from the transporters system is working
- Daily team meetings with various stakeholders, aligned to client and transportation deliverables
- Ensure client queries are managed daily and necessary escalation and issue resolution is addressed within KPI
- Support in creating and maintaining processes, SOPs, Work Instructions etc.
- Training and rollout of change management processes
- Ensure ongoing performance measurement, systems and metrics are used and align with service excellence and client centricity
- Clear and consistent communication within operation and between the warehouse, transporter and client
- Consistently review data to identify areas of improvement to support the overall services and development of the transportation product
