Job Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments. Sound knowledge of machine tools and their various aspects that include repair and maintenance In depth understanding of technical drawings and design techniques ( blue print reading) Adjust and operate machines in complete accordance with given blueprints Excellent ability to adjust machines to exact positions quickly. Determine setup procedures, machining sequence and dimensions of finished work pieces. Position and secure work pieces in fixtures according to setup instructions. Operate machine tools - conventional and CNC ( Boring mills , Lathes and milling station) Must be able to set a job on a CNC machine and read, run and adjust a programme. Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring tools. Measure dimensions of parts using instruments like Vernier calipers and micrometer screw gauge (very close tolerance) Clean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matter. Work with minimum supervision. Qualifications Red Seal Any relevant machinist qualifications 3 5 years experience
