Job Title: Technical Manager – Data Centre
Location: Canary Wharf
Overview:
We are recruiting a Technical Manager on behalf of a leading provider of integrated facilities and real estate management services. This role is part of their expanding Data Centre Solutions division and is based on a key client site in Docklands. This is a critical, site-based position for a professional with a background in critical environments and management experience.
Qualifications and Experience:

Degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of industry experience, or 10+ years as an Electrician or Electrical Technician in a critical environment with supervisory experience.

Preferred experience in data centres, hospitals, pharmaceutical production, or power plants.

Strong team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Expertise in electrical and mechanical systems, including UPS systems, generators, switchgear, and HVAC equipment.

Experience with automatic control systems (PLC, BMS) and medium voltage systems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Ability to compile reports and monitor operational metrics.

Flexibility to work outside normal hours to address critical issues.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of critical environment systems to ensure 100% uptime.

Adhere to all health, safety, quality, and environmental policies.

Plan and coordinate PPMs, repairs, training, and engineering activities across the team.

Ensure all subcontractors comply with site health, safety, and operating procedures.

Serve as a point of contact for engineering teams, ensuring timely responses to alarms and system alerts.

Oversee the completion of scheduled PMs, logging all activities in the CMMS system.

Provide daily handover reports and attend weekly planning meetings.

Develop and update site-specific procedures, including EOPs, SOPs, and MOPs.

Deliver toolbox talks and drills regularly.

Manage team appraisals and technical staff development.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Drive team performance to meet KPI targets and address health and safety breaches as needed.
