Job Purpose
To provide a high quality, culturally appropriate catering service to meet the needs of Citizens.
Description of Duties

To carry out preparation of vegetables and other basic food preparation
-
Responsible for the washing up of pans, utensils and crockery
-
Cleaning of equipment and premises as part of the cleaning rota
-
Packaging, delivery and assisting with service of food to citizens
-
Working with due regards for own personal safety and that of others within the establishment

Work within the parameters of Food Hygiene Legislation
-
To work across Adult Provision sites as and when required.
Knowledge and Experience
-
Food preparation: Basic food preparation skills, including peeling, cutting, and cleaning meat, fish, and vegetables
-
Food safety: Understanding food hygiene and health and safety procedures
-
Kitchen equipment: Experience operating kitchen equipment like grinders, mincers, slicers, and mixers
-
Teamwork: The ability to work well with others in a kitchen team

Communication: Good listening and communication skills
-
Organisation: Good time management skills and the ability to organise your workload
