As GBN Management Accountant you will be a qualified accountant and possess time served experience in contributing to the provision of essential and responsible financial management data ensuring that GBN continues to make well-informed strategic and operational decisions. You will provide meaningful and timely financial information by producing monthly management accounts, annual budgets and cyclical forecasts while ensuring compliance with GBN financial and business procedures and policies.
Day to day duties:
Ensure the month-end management information and accounting process is carried out accurately and efficiently within a determined reporting schedule.
Detailed analysis and review of variances to operating monthly and ytd budget and plan.
Monthly reforecast of agreed set annual budget to produce updated position on ytd out-turn full year spend.
Analysed and reconciliation of actual spend against budget and identify deviations with suggested corrections and impact.
Tracking of variance to plan and production of analytical and graphical representation of movement to plan.
Recording and forecasting of financial transactions for project, department, or company.
Provide required management reporting in the form of project appraisal, evaluation and post-implementation analysis.
Proactive approach and recommendations for Management reports development and testing.
Understand and champion GBN system reporting and resolve advanced Management Accounting reports and system queries.
Provide ad hoc customised financial data extracts and reports for management analysis.
Support financial year end planning and external audit process.
Contribute to the GBN Finance team's processes and procedures ensuring they are as efficient as possible whilst constantly seeking to make improvements.
Build a network of contacts within the finance dept., wider business and the business support network.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:
Experience of producing monthly and analysed management accounts and reports
Understanding key business drivers and how the business operates
Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Recognise output delivery and importance of meeting both cyclical and tight deadlines
Excellent team player with proven ability to build strong relationships with key individuals in the business and with business partners.
Proactive, organised and self-motivated with a sufficient working style possessing with the ability to prioritise and multitask.
Customer focused and responsive with good commercial acumen / judgement.
Professional, confident and credible communicator with good presentation skills.
Agile, receptive to change and a flexible approach to workload and working arrangements.

Tech savvy - keep abreast and understand latest IT developments with ability to assess for future use and/or recommend for adoption/implementation.
Strong computer skills (advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerBi, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with the ability to learn the business' support and operating systems
Qualifications
Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CIPFA).
Bachelor's degree with minimum two years of relevant management accounting experience.
