What's involved with this role: Interim Regulatory Services Environmental Health OfficerReference no: Portsmouth Pay Rate: £35.76 per hour PAYE37 Monday - Sunday, TBC This opening assignment is for 3 monthsCity: PORTSMOUTHRequire weekdays/weekday evenings onlyFlexible working is possible - the officer can work up to 37 hrs per week but this could be 3 working days a week or equivalent split over a shorter working day. Evening working is also possible, and preferred, as a number of premises require inspection out of normal office hours.Key Responsibilities:

Carrying out food compliance inspections of low and medium risk premises to ensure compliance with UK and international standards for food safety, hygiene and sanitation. Issuing relevant certification and the delivery of follow up enforcement actions. Provide advice and guidance.

Key requirements:

Must have a recognised food qualification to carry out food interventions as detailed in Food Standards Agency Food law Code of Practice. Certificate of Registration of the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board, or equivalent. An excellent, detailed and up to date working knowledge of legislation and statutory guidance. A minimum of 2 years' experience in the inspection of food businesses. Demonstrable compliance with CIEH CPD requirements and the FLCofP competency criteria. Good communication skills. Flexible to work some evenings and weekends as required.
