Job Description
The cashier will ensure efficient and accurate processing of customer transactions while delivering exceptional customer service. The cashier will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of handling payments, resolving customer inquiries, and promoting the company's range of products.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage transactions with customers using cash registers.
- Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate.
- Collect payments via cash or credit.
- Issue receipts, refunds, change, or tickets.
- Cross-sell products and introduce new ones to customers.
- Resolve customer complaints, provide guidance, and relevant information.
- Greet customers when entering or leaving the store.
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas.
- Track transactions on balance sheets and report any discrepancies.
- Bag, box, or gift-wrap packages.
- Handle merchandise returns and exchanges.
- Assist in other areas of the store as needed.
Requirements
- Matric/ Grade 12 (NSC)
- Degree / or Diploma in Finance or Accounting (Advantageous)
- A minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience
- Computer Literate
- Attention to detail
- Exceptional Customer Service
