Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm including 1x 5pm

Assistant Senco to join our close-knit team at New Barn School located in
Newbury.
About the role
To assist in managing the provision for pupils identified as having Special
Educational Needs (SEN); including supporting with all relevant administration
duties, running interventions, effective use of resources, and high standards
of teaching, learning and achievement for all pupils. Specific responsibility
areas are determined and allocated as local operational requirements and team
structure dictate. Please note that some areas are site specific.
Duties and Responsibilities

Schedule dates and times for annual review meetings (ARM) for pupils within each academic year, in accordance with legal requirements and considering school calendar, including management diaries

Invite pupils’ parentscarers, Local Authority (LA) and all other stakeholders to ARM, and reschedule where necessary

Communicate the intention of holding the ARM to staff with the explicit mention of what the requirements from them are

Retrieve and analyse information using relevant system and information in learner file to complete information necessary for ARM

Collate and produce all pre-annual review documentation, ensuring deadlines are met by chasing and supporting staff where necessary

Complete annual review report following meeting, with action points and amendments

Distribute annual review paperwork to parentscarers, LA stakeholders, staff and any other persons that have action points prior to and following review.

Maintain students SENCO folder with relevant SEN information from parentsLA and other stakeholders, including filing a copy of annual reviews as a PDF in pupil’s folders and hardcopy in pupil folder.

Prioritise workload to ensure completion to specific deadlines

Support SENCO with responding to emails, letters and telephone enquiries in relation to SEN.

Maintain the school annual review and intervention calendar and communicate to staff deadlines and ARM dates.

Support the SENCO in the implementation, execution and review of a variety of identified and individualised interventions based on special educational need and additional identified academic need from KS1 to KS5.

Support the SENCO in managing the implementation of provision and appropriate resources for Special Needs and Learning Support and ensure that they are used efficiently, effectively and safely
