*Doctors Direct* have an exciting opportunity for a *Speciality Doctor *to work with us at *Islington *in *Substance misuse, Psychiatry.*
We are looking for a doctor dedicated to, and passionate about, improving health and wellbeing within the Islington Community working for *Islington* *Better Lives Drug and Alcohol Service. This role is based across 2 sites in Islington – one at Kings Cross and one on Seven Sisters Rd.*
*Your key responsibilities will be to:*
* Providing day-to-day front-line clinical services
* Assessment of drug and alcohol use and dependence and co-morbid psychiatric and physical health problems
* Initiate treatment and sign-controlled drug prescriptions.
* Psychiatric assessment, treatment, reviews and referrals
* Community alcohol detoxification and substitute opioid prescribing (detoxification and harm minimisation approaches)
* Initial medical assessments, treatment reviews, dose reviews
* On-site or satellite clinics in hostels/ home visits/hospitals
* Liaison with local treatment services and partners
* Supporting the building of pathways between mental health teams and the physical health teams
* Attending team meetings
* Clinical supervision of non-medic prescribers, other clinical staff and medical students
* Undertake clinical audit and quality improvement
* Continuing professional development
* Teaching of medical students, junior medical staff & MDT staff
* Supporting the team around teaching professionals in the wider trust as needed around SMS
