Area/Location: Hoedspruit Summery:
The Head Chef is responsible for creating and developing the menu, overseeing the preparation of all food items, ensuring that they meet high-quality standards and are prepared according to the recipes and restaurant standards, in charge of the entire kitchen operation, organizing and coordinating the work of other chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff to maintain an efficient workflow.
Qualifications Required: - Relevant Tertiary Qualification
- Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices
Experience: - Chef Experience in a similar environment (five-star lodge)
- Experience in preparing fine dining five-star cuisine as well as special requirements such as kosher food.
Responsibilities: - Actively running a shift and producing high quality meals
- Maintaining and improving the culinary experience for guests
- Menu planning for guests as well as staff members
- Maintaining and improving food and health safety procedures and standards
- Managing and overseeing staff
- Staff training and development
- All administrative duties pertaining to the kitchen and employees
