Assistant Financial Manager is to maintain accurate financial records for an organization. The purpose of an
Assistant Financial Manager is to support the Financial Manager in overseeing financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis. The role involves assisting with day-to-day financial tasks, ensuring compliance, and providing data-driven insights to support decision-making and organizational financial health.
As the
Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare management accounts, including budgets, forecasts, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Prepare financial forecasts and annual budgets.
- Meet weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines.
- Complete annual tax packs.
- Manage income and expenditure control.
- Perform monthly variance analysis of financial statements.
- Ensure adherence to tax legislation.
- Review weekly and monthly creditor payments.
- Prepare month-end journals.
- Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are completed and reviewed.
- Clear balance sheet reconciliation items within 30 days.
- Complete VAT returns and ensure VAT reasonability.
- Balance weekly inter-divisional loan accounts.
- Develop and manage financial controls and procedures.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors.
- Communicate with branches regarding queries, orders, etc.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs or increase revenue.
- Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships to support operational objectives.
- Manage direct reports, ensuring a positive and productive working environment.
- Ensure timely and clear contracting and performance evaluation with direct reports, providing feedback and operational support as needed.
Qualifications: Completed Bcom in Finance
Completed articles (SAIPA or SAICA)
2 years supervisory/team management experience within a financial environment
Sage x3 is preferred
Highly proficient in Excel
