The role of the Planning and Reporting Manager is to produce high quality financial and management information for key central processes and provide high quality leadership and management skills.

What are the day-to-day tasks?
- Produce insightful monthly management variance reports for both Income statement and Balance sheet
- Ownership and support of the regional Budget/Reforecast processes
- Monitor and recommend improvements to the internal control environment
- Co-ordinate system maintenance including cost centres, reporting hierarchies, G/L accounts and period open/close
- Periodic review of relevant balance sheet accounts
- Provide control and challenge on accounting matters to other areas of the business Ownership of deliverable items as part or group and local audits
- Support / Lead specific group related accounting matters where applicable
- Deep dive support analysis, reconciliation and clearance of specific areas across Finance Ops identified as priorities on a project basis
- Produce Insightful monthly management variance reports for both Income statement and Balance sheet, reviewing financial data to draw conclusions and provide insightful commentary
- Periodic review of relevant balance sheet accounts with a focus on agreed key accounts. Report monthly with recommendations and actions to the Head of Management Accounts and AP to ensure a risk free entity
- Provide clear direction and guidance to direct reports on actively clearing balances with regional teams providing accounting and process guidance
- Ownership and support of the regional Budget/Reforecast processes liaising directly with FP&A and Senior Regional Financial Controller to ensure successful completion
- Monitor and recommend improvements to the internal control environment through continues process review
- Monitor audit deliverables across Glasgow, escalating to the Head of Management Accounts and AP as required Ownership of deliverable items as part of group and local audits working with the External Reporting team to ensure all audit requirements are met
What else are we looking for?
Knowledge & Experience:
- Extensive knowledge of financial and management reporting essential
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to communicate financial matters to non-technical
- experts
- Strong analytical skills with previous experience required in creating and writing commentary for management
- Strong command over MS Excel (Advanced) & MS Word is desirable up to but not necessarily including VBA
- SAP ERP, BW and PCM reporting tool exposure (desirable but not essential)
- Affinity with system setup and impact on reporting is a benefit (not essential)
- Previous management experience desirable but not essential
Qualifications:
- CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified Accountant or equivalent, or qualified by experience
