Employment History
Recycling/Refuse Operative - ALS People, Swansea Jan 2024 – Mar 2025
Working within Swansea Council, I was required to work as part of an efficient team collecting waste and recycling from residential and business addresses. This work involved early starts and working in all weather conditions. The role required a high level of physical fitness and good understanding of manual handling. My role involved using a lifting mechanism to empty waste into the lorry, operating a waste compactor to crush loads and assisting with the unloading process.
Warehouse Parcel Sorter - Parcelforce Worldwide, Swansea Mar 2021 – Mar 2022
Working 12-hour night shifts within this busy warehouse involved receiving mail via a conveyor belt, scanning individual items and sorting them into appropriate loading bags before loading them onto designated lorries for dispatch to customers. The work involved working to tight deadlines each day to ensure that mail was processed through the warehouse to meet delivery schedules.
Dry-liner - Agency, Swansea Mar 2019 – Feb 2020
I was required to fix plasterboard to metal, timber frames anddirectly to walls, using boards to create partitions and false ceilings in residential and commercial projects. I was also responsible for the installation of insulation and soundproofing materials. An important part of this process was creating a seamless joint by taping to prepare surfaces for painting and decorating.
Painter and Decorator - Self-employed, Swansea Mar 2018 – Mar 2019
My role involved preparing and painting exterior and interior surfaces using varnishes, paint, wall fabrics, paper, stains and sealers. Excellent attention to detail was required to ensure a high-quality finish of work completed.
Plasterer/Labourer - Self-employed, Swansea Mar 2014 – Mar 2017
My role began as a labourer whilst I developed my knowledge and experience with plastering. My role involved mixing plaster, cement and similar materials before applying to suitably prepared interior and exterior surfaces. I was also involved with building ramps suitable for disabled use.
