About
I am currently working as a Youth Empowerment Worker in Liverpool, England.
With over 10 years of working experience in both corporate and not-for-profit organizations in Kenya and the United Kingdom, I hold a bachelor's degree in economics and a master's degree in Theological Studies.
My skills in leadership, community mobilization, social care, customer service, youth empowerment, teaching, and communication have been sharpened over time as I served in various roles including as a customer service executive, translator, interpreter, church pastor, youth empowerment worker, published author, and teacher.
In addition to this, I have experience in content creation and media publishing through my social media platforms.
As a Youth Support Worker, my duties have included the following:
• Active promotion of life skills, independence, and the knowledge base of young people.
• Connecting young people to career mentors, apprenticeships, and training opportunities.
• Appropriate reporting and record keeping.
• Ensuring a learning environment that offers opportunities, and that promotes self -development, personal achievement, and resilience to young people.
• Maintaining accurate and timely financial transaction records.
• Providing responsive, consistent, and effective support to young people, in line with their individual needs, within a semi-independent context.
• Effective collaboration with all professionals, family members and others relevant to the individual young person.
• Active promotion of the rights of each young person.
• Maintaining an environment that is proactively anti-oppressive, and that acknowledges and values diversity.
• Upholding employer-defined policies and procedures.
• Ensuring, through the application of consistent, effective working practices, the positive safeguarding and welfare of each young person.
• Promotion of positive, trusting, and meaningful relationships with young people
