About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading Accountancy Practice in the Edinburgh that is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for a diverse client base, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and providing valuable support to the wider accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records for a range of clients, including processing invoices, reconciling bank statements, and preparing VAT returns.
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and deadlines.
Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
Communicate effectively with clients to address queries and provide guidance on financial matters.
Work closely with the accounting team to ensure seamless service delivery and contribute to process improvements.

What They're Looking For

Proven experience in a similar bookkeeping role, ideally within an accountancy practice.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision on core bookkeeping tasks
Handle the core processing of bank, sales ledger and purchase ledger including reconcilation
Able to work efficiently and effective across multiple clients with varying processing frequencies
Be proficient in core softwares - Xero, Quickbooks, Sage Cloud and Dext
Willing to explore new developments in technology such as AI bot processing or software integrations
Assist other staff members with their bookkeeping tasks
Willing to assist in the overall supervision and continued development of the bookkeeping function reporting directly to senior management
