The Copywriter/Proofreader needs to have a proven track record in the profession and must have a deep understanding of the ways copy helps clients achieve their aims and needs to be able to generate immaculate copy for every brief.

This position is a leading figure in the creative team and should always be ready to rise to any challenging brief with a keen eye for detail and proofreading at a good pace and should have the drive to deliver the sharpest, most dazzling copy.

This role requires complete self-assurance, as the copywriter/proofreader is in charge of influencing consumers by delivering a clear message, as well as using his/her initiative to seek out new trends and incorporate them into campaigns, effectively. Working alongside the Creative Director, developers and designers, the incumbent must be a keen team player and a self-sufficient multi-tasker full of original approaches and innovative ideas.

You must have:

1. Matriculation/Grade 12 Certificate

2. Certificate/Diploma/BA Degree specialising in Copywriting and Proofreading

3. 3 to 5 years prior experience in the same or similar position

4. Excellent and efficient oral and written communication skills in at least English & Afrikaans

5. Significant experience in professional, commercial writing

6. A strong record in creating immaculate copy and proofreading that stands out from the crowd

7. The ability to plan and strategise high-profile projects

8. A persuasive and confident approach to creativity

9. Ability to work with designers on their projects

10. A keen attention to detail and timescales

11. Familiarity with creative processes and techniques – including digital media

12. Confidence in building a rapport with clients and nurturing good working relationships

13. Ability to work under pressure

14. Ability to proofread extensively

15. Have a sound knowledge of the processes and procedures about delivering final work to clients and to stations
