Seeking a Medical Scientist with experience in Molecular Biology.

A specialist molecular diagnostic laboratory located in Westville, Durban is currently seeking a medical scientist or technologist with HPCSA registration to join their dynamic team. If you are registered in an appropriate professional category, e.g. Molecular Biology, Human Genetics, Forensics, Haematology, and have experience in molecular techniques, then this opportunity is perfect for you.

Minimum Requirements:

Four-year Honours degree in the life sciences or relevant qualification and experience as a medical technologist.
Valid and up-to-date HPCSA registration in an appropriate professional category (please note that your application will only be considered if you are HPCSA registered).
Experience in molecular diagnostic techniques and methodologies.
Familiarity with the ISO 15189 standard and quality principles would be advantageous.
Experience in DNA relationship testing and Sanger sequencing would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

Conduct molecular biology lab work and analysis in a specialized laboratory setting utilizing advanced molecular techniques.
Collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure accurate interpretation and reporting of results.
Maintain compliance with all relevant laboratory regulations and quality standards.
