The position is based at our Head Office in Westville, Durban.

As FIT Operations Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional operational support to the Reservations team, ensuring that all travel and booking arrangements are not only accurate but also delivered with timely precision.
The position would require a candidate to have related Inbound FIT travel operations experience, experience working with reservations systems, and a good understanding of the North American market and its requirements and needs.
Key Objectives
The key functions of the Operations Coordinator include but will not be limited to:
- Empower and support the Reservations Consultants by:
- Conducting availability checks with precision
- Finding and securing alternative options when challenges arise
- Booking of services
- Loading bookings into the Reservations system accurately and timeously
- Reconfirming accommodations and services to safeguard against errors or losses
- Making amendments as and when requested by the customer
- Performing telephonic reconfirmations before guest's arrival
- Conducting quality checks on every booking, ensuring excellence is our standard
- Compiling final travel documentation and any other essential operational documents
- Upholding processes and checks that facilitate the smooth, timely, and efficient delivery of travel documentation and operational support to the Reservations Consultants.
- Reflect on your processes and documentation to share innovative suggestions with your manager, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Providing regular status updates to the Reservations Consultants, keeping everyone informed on the progress of their bookings.
- Cultivating strong relationships with suppliers, recognizing they are vital to our success and collaboration.
- Gaining a deep understanding of your customer’s needs and passionately delivering on those expectations.
Requirements
Qualification
- Grade 12
- A Travel and Tourism qualification is highly preferable
Essential experience and skills required
- Related Inbound FIT travel operations experience
- Experience working with reservations systems
- Strong computer literacy
- Product, destination, and logistical knowledge of South and Southern Africa
- Understanding of the North American market and its requirements and needs
